The Georgia Regency society is planning to do a Christmas time Regency house party in Savannah Georgia. We are thinking of renting an entire historic inn and spending 2 days and nights living the regency life complete with English Christmas dinner! Now we haven't booked the inn yet because we do not have enough people to fill it yet so if anyone is interested in joining us please let me know!

You can probably blanket mail your facebook group too to gauge interest.

Oh that sounds lovely! I could probably come for the day, I have too many to tend to on the farm to stay overnight. I have a relative that used to give tours (carriage tours naturally) down in the hist. district - I could check with her, but I do not think there are any regency buildings that are inns down there. I think Savannah had a great fire that took most of them. There are a couple I could name that give guided tours though. And may I add that Forsyth Park would be an AWSOME place for a photo opp - it is one of my favorite places in the world actually. PS is it just me or is the GRS website down?

thanks for all the advice. we did actually already find a place it's a vacation rental that happens to be a victorian house fully furnished in antiques. it's not period but still quite pretty! you are welcome to join us for the christmas party we are planning to have and any outings we may go on.

Thank you You could also post the event on the SavannahNow and Coastal Courier websites once all the details are ironed out. And if you have any fliers I know of a few bulletin boards in the area (I'm very often at the historical society down there for one...) And if there is anything else a poor student with a sewing machine + photoshop can do don't hesitate to ask! ;0) ~Courtney

Ah, sorry, I have been looking for an excuse to drum up interest in the regency in this region for awhile now. Perhaps another opportunity will present itself :0)

I see that this is an old thread. But if there is still an interest in doing something in Savannah, I may be able to help. I am from Savannah but live in Atlanta now. Most of our families still live there so we go often.
