Over the past few months, I have had the pleasure of discovering several blogs that are written by living history enthusiasts who write in their personas' own voices. I've been enjoying our Doctor's blog for some time, along with Miss Waterman's and several others as I come across them. Do you have an 'in character" blog? If so, how do you develop your persona and topics on which to write?

I much enjoy the Doctor's blog as well as Miss Waterman's (and of course others, most notably that of Herr Mozart). At the moment, I'm starting up my own character blog, being partly inspired by Miss Waterman and others. To develop my persona, I thought of a simple outline of the character--what time period does she live in? what class? how old?-- that sort of thing. Then, when I finished building that outline, I came up with a name (in my case, it's Lady Victoria Rimbaud) and came up with a personality. As for topics, I try to avoid topics that could possibly bring up my own personal life and focus more on what topics I could write about through my persona; of course, I haven't blogged in my persona yet, so I haven't much to share on this. EDIT: Here we are, my new, in character blog : bellevictoire.blogspot.com/
