Hi all! I have a question regarding fabric that is 50-50 poly-cotton. Is it best to just avoid using this kind of fabric? Or is there anywhere that this kind of fabric can be used in Regency costuming. The reason I ask is because I was recently given a lot of fabric that someone no longer had use for, but a lot of it was this poly-cotton blend.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

it really depends on the fabric. if it is a period appropriate print or solid color and if it looks and feel like cotton i see no reason not to use it. unless you are bothered by knowing your fabric is not 100% authentic i see no reason why you can't use it.

Heat would be my only concern, poly is warmer and so would be your clothing. If you live somewhere cooler, or will be indoors a lot it may not matter.

Thanks for the advice! I just went to the fabric store and ended up finding light weight muslin for only $2/meter because it was not as wide as it was supposed to be! I also got some 100% cotton prints for dress, a soft pinky rose color and a white with tiny blue flowers. Hopefully both look historical accurate enough!
