I was wondering if anyone here can help me to organise an evening of regency entertainments, food etc? I'm needing help with pre-event preparation ideas, how to run it on the night, how to keep costs down, when to prepare food and so on, plus suggestions for entertainments. Are there any records online of these sort of entertainments and the menus used? In what form would the invitation have been sent - are there any examples I can look at? Also, I've been asked why our ball can't have tables at the back for people to play cards. I've always had a separate games room. Is there any evidence of games being played in the ballroom?

Some of your questions are fairly broad and I wouldn't know where to start with answers.
The games at a Ball is one of practicality. Games would normally be in another room to avoid any distractions or disruptions between either the game or the music/dancing/conversations. However, if you do not have a separate room for the games, you would either not have them or they would have to share the same room. But if you have the rooms, they should be kept separately located.
Cheers
