At the risk of sounding like a broken record because it's all everyone is talking about... What did you think of the royal wedding?
I loved Kate Middleton's dress. I thought it was understated, classic and elegant. It looked a lot like Grace Kelly's wedding dress, but with a modern neckline. And hooray for sleeves! It's so refreshing to see sleeves on a wedding gown.
And the hats!!! I can't stop looking at pictures of all the hats. I'm of the personal opinion that we need more dramatic and outrageous hats in the world today.

A description of the lace used on Kate's dress from the official royal wedding webpage:
"The lace appliqué for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. The lace design was hand-engineered (appliquéd) using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originated in Ireland in the 1820s. Individual flowers have been hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock."
I assume the different flower motifs in the lace represent the United Kingdom: a rose for England, a thistle for Scotland, a daffodil for Whales and a shamrock for Ireland. Lovely!
