Back to Allseeing's fichu - what dimensions/measurements did you use for the triangle? Would a thicker material look ridiculous for a day dress? I have some extra, not sure what type of material - cotton of some sort, with designs in it, sort of like lacework, but thicker than the light fabrics generally seen . .. . .or maybe I can make one for practice, no matter the material.

I don't recall to be frank. I'm thinking however, that I was being frugal because I wanted enough voile left to make a chemisette, so I was very sparing on cutting it.
When I stretch out the long side of the triangle, it's probably a little under a yard long. And don't forget, washing will shrink it a bit too.
