Letter Writing Workshop Feb 18th, 2012 Time TBA In the Visitor Center at Rock CastleHendersonville, TN. Before long distance phone calls, before emails, before texting... the only way to communicate over long distances was by writing a letter. Come out and get some ink on your hands and learn how to write a proper period letter! We'll be doing some practice sheets out of "George Bickham's Penmanship Made Easy" from 1733. Then after a little practice, we'll write our very own letters... When we're done, you'll be able to take away a period letter that you made yourself, complete with wax seal! You'll have the pleasure and experience of doing something totally appropriate for our time period. I'll cover ink, wax and paper... but please bring your own pen. Quill or steel-nibbed pens are welcome! While I always invite you to come dressed in your period finery, for THIS particular event, it will not be required. It'll be a fun way to pass a cold winter's afternoon.
