My Royal Navy group is a band of some pretty hard-core first person interpreters... they're a great lot. We even keep an in-character ship's log! Recently, we have begun to create and play some 'in-character' games at events. The first is called 'A Matter of Espionage' (follow the link for the official rules). We play tested this new 'Spy-game' at Mississinewa 1812 this last year and it was a resounding success! So much so that one of the planners of the Fair at New Boston personally requested we do it again at THEIR event this year. Interested in reading about how our first game worked out? Find the official write up in the Acasta's log here: Mission One Part 1It was a blast, I've never been so busy or had so much fun at an event! We dragged the American riflemen into the game and most of their wives as well. I heartily encourage you to try something of this sort (although you may wish to modify the rules a bit for your own purpose) and share YOUR results with the group!

Doctor, I think this is a great way of bringing a little action to an event. I have been following your blogs and thought that is was very inventive. Thanks for sharing it.

What a fun idea!
Wonder how this concept might be adapted for a "civilian" adventure. Will have to figure out where I left my creativity...
Many thanks for sharing, Doctor!
