It isn't a physical event that one can attend, but perhaps you have something on your blog where people can participate, or a site where members may contribute something. Annouce these things here!

This isn't an event but general info. For those living in San Diego County, CA, there is a English Country Dancing group, who dance and teach every Sunday night, from 6-9pm, in Poway. www.sdecd.org/ It costs $6. I have friends who go there, and said if you're a beginner, & come a 1/2 hr early, they will walk you thru some steps so you feel more comfortable. I have plans on starting with this group. Just waiting for life to calm down. There is also the San Diego Vintage Dancers www.lahacal.org/sandiego.html which some of my friends are members. Also, if you want to join a costume group, try the San Diego Costume Guild, of which I'm the current President. We're not experts, as Guild implies. And we're not costume nazis or thread counters. We are all levels of sewing abilities, from non-sewers to experts. We do a large variety of eras, not just one. It ranges from Renaissance (which we have a large group, and an encampment at the Escondido Ren Faire) up to 1950s. We just like to play dress-up. We don't have events per se, but often go to tea or picnics in costume. But we are busy throughout the year. We have no membership fee, and communicate through our own private Yahoo Group. We meet every other month at a restaurant. At this time our website is under construction but for info contact me at sdcostume@yahoo.com Photos from some of our events are here: www.pbase.com/cinnamonhrts/san_diego_costume_guld_albumVal LaBore

Val,
I'm from La Mesa and my parents still live in La Mesa. I attended the Jane Austen Evening in Pasadena and picked up the flier for the May 5th event in SD. Do you have any additional information on that event?

Val, I'm from La Mesa and my parents still live in La Mesa. I attended the Jane Austen Evening in Pasadena and picked up the flier for the May 5th event in SD. Do you have any additional information on that event? Which event are you talking about? I haven't gone to any Regency dance classes or dances, so I'm not aware of anything. I just checked our Guild calendar, and no one has given us anything for that date. Val

The Georgia Regency society is planning to do a Christmas time Regency house party in Savannah Georgia. We are thinking of renting an entire historic inn and spending 2 days and nights living the regency life complete with English Christmas dinner! Now we haven't booked the inn yet because we do not have enough people to fill it yet so if anyone is interested in joining us please let me know!

I may be over stepping my bounds but The Puget Sound Regency Society might be having a Tea the first weekend of November at The Secret Garden Tea Room in Sumner. I really want to go but have to convince hubby to go visit some friends in Yelm that weekend so I'm close enough to go LOL It shouldn't be too hard though

well We where thinking of the inn at 909 lincoln. it's pretty new i think, and victorian so not the right period, but it' looks quite pretty online and the price is great for savannah! plus you get the run of the whole house and get to use the kitchen there which is great since we would like to make Christmas dinner.

OH well, maybe one day I'll visit and bring along my period costumes and go for walks around Forsyth and Riverstreet...Then I'll be a real time warper

You *should* however post this information on the GaRS board too so if anyone from Georgia comes sauntering by, they can find this announcement with ease, and it is a GaRS event.
