Hello! My name is Linda. I'm an aspiring Regency writer in Maryland (and in the next year or two will be living in Pennsylvania).
I was laid off last month and my Significant Other Of Long Standing (whom I call Himself online) and I decided I'd take a couple months to see if I could really make a go of being a writer. I'm about 5,000 words into it after taking a few weeks for research, plotting, etc. and am having so much fun!
Right now we live in a small condo in northern Maryland, but we own 9.5 acres in Pennsylvania and are building a home there next year. One of the many things I am VERY much looking forward to having there is a sewing room with plenty of space to quilt and make costumes.
I've done some costume making for the Renaissance period (I was an historical reenactor with a local Landsknecht group). I've also attended two Regency-themed events in costume (that's me on the right in my avatar at Riversdale Mansion), though I bought my dresses for the Regency period.
I adore historical dance, though my experience is limited. I've done some English Country and some Regency, though not in ages.
I very much look forward to talking with all of you! I will likely be picking the collective brain here from time to time if Google fails me for certain details for my novel.
Thank you for your time and have a lovely day!
Yours cordially, Linda

Linda,
I also live in Maryland. Do you know of any local Regency groups?
I've noticed that they are mixing the Regency era into other time periods, although it has become more popular over that last few years.
I make authentic 1860's clothing and own a business called Mason-Dixon Sewing Co. I want to branch out into other time periods including the colonial era too.
