I just stumbled across a library program that is being put on by the Sacramento Public Library:

It looks great -- I love that they are having people come in and lecture about the historical period in addition to hosting literary discussions. I thought it would be a great place to meet like-minded people in this area (which I have to say is turning out to be a bit of a desert in terms of events/groups!). I don't think there are any folks on the board in CA north of the Bay Area, but I thought I'd share. I only wish I had heard about it back in August!
