Hello! This coming Sunday, Oct. 24th at 2pm, the Sacramento Public Library is hosting another lecture in its "How Austentatious!" series. This month's novel is Northanger Abbey, and Sunday's presentations include a Regency-era fashion show and concert. The program is wonderful and it is FREE to the public. There is plenty of free street parking around the library. I suggest coming early as the staff expects attendance to be very high this week. We will be ajdourning to Temple Coffee for our first Coffeehouse Meeting just after the lecture around 4:30 pm. This is just a casual get-together to meet others who are interested in getting this group off the ground and to socialize. Please visit the blog for details and a map! www.regencysocietysacramento.blogspot.comHow Austentatious: www.saclibrary.org/?pageId=1260Temple Coffee: www.yelp.com/biz/temple-coffee-house-sacramento

The website also has podcasts of some of the previous lectures. The one about places in Jane Austen's England is pretty useless without the slides but the others were quite interesting to listen to during my commute.

Thanks for reminding me about the podcasts! It's been nice to "catch up" on the lectures I missed through the magic of technology. I think some of the lectures/essays are available as text, too.

It was great meeting you, Kelly! I'm so glad you were able to make it for the lecture -- the fashion show was wonderful.
