Steph, oh All Seeing One, you're half right. I found a group just 5.5 hours from here who are giving a ball in a fortnight and said, yes, please, come down. We'd love to have an experienced dancer. YIKES! The other half is building bonnets. I actually have the skeleton of Lady C's stovepipe clone sitting on my head as I type.

@miss Parker: LOL! I can just see you now osteal bonnet and all. Hee hee! lauren: I know you can do it. And Save the date for November 15 (shhhh). What am I up to? I'm about to embrace my first non-driving, non-sick, non-event weekend in over a month in a half. I have slated some time to make Tara's stays and shift, I have all my supplies so I don't have to leave the mountain (let alone my home) for the whole weekend except to inspect the new spring buds in my garden. :::grin:: @dawn: My sister's down in Pensacola visiting my brother. Enjoy it. It's high spring down there apparently.

Steph- My puppies have been ever so helpful in cleaning up the straw bits off my floor!
Alas, I'm enjoying my last two days of freedom until I go back to work (I've been on a 2-week spring break...Heaven!)
When I go back I'll be working, taking 2 grad classes, making reticules, and trying to keep my small family functioning smoothly (which of course is a relative term).

You got it exactly right. Moving and packing in two months with a toddler is a pain. I am also trying to make her some modern clothes for the summer. I have peen drafting patterns all week with very little to show for it. I hope that you are enjoying your weekend.

My family = Myself, hubby and two Jack Russell Terriers who also like to hoover up anything that's on the floor (mostly Simon does that sort of stuff, Flower is generally a Lady).
Even just this small family unit can be hectic. But hectic or no, I'll never give up hope that I could miraculously defy what the doctors say and get pregnant. ::hope::

Is your weather supposed to be nice like ours down here in Portland? It's almost 80 degrees here today. Oregon is even crazier than New England, I swear. It was snowing HUGE flakes just this past Tuesday. ::rolls eyes:: I confess I spent most of my morning lolling around in bed, it is just a luxury these days, so I'm going to jump on it. I am so exhausted. I'm up and about now. I'm going outside to get a bit of sun, to check my plants and to see if the mason bees are awake yet. I'll keep you apprised of the summer party as soon as I get ahold of Rev Kev.

But hectic or no, I'll never give up hope that I could miraculously defy what the doctors say and get pregnant. ::hope:: Have you guys looked into adoption at all? My SIL tried to get pregnant for 6 years, with no luck. They finally adopted a baby boy, well he's not a baby anymore, from Ethiopia 2 years ago. He is the most wonderful, sweet little boy, so smart, and gorgeous. I can't say enough about adoption. In fact, hubby and I are planning to adopt in about three years. If you're interested, I can give you links to adoption agencies, and people to contact. Anywhoo, just curious. :-)

Yes, we've certainly thought about it; however there is the whole financial aspect of adoption we are simply unable to afford; if we had that sort of money, we'd be ble to try in vitro.

I'll never give up hope that I could miraculously defy what the doctors say and get pregnant. ::hope:: Just some thoughts from both sides of the issue.... I have a friend who at 41 after 16 years of marriage to the same guy and never using BC, got pregnant. They had never "tried" and assumed they were unable to conceive. So, it is always possible. My hubby and I tried for about 2 years. After getting medical results that looked grim for our chances, we stopped. Adoption and fertility was totally our of our financial means too. While I sometimes get misty holding a friends baby, I think things always work out in the end. At almost 40, I'm kinda glad we don't have a young 'un making us any more tired than we already are! Also, with my teenage stepdaughter driving with her new permit, my nerves couldn't handle the thought of having to go through these teen years again! No matter where life's path takes you, there are always positive things down the road.

Oh, I hear you on the money aspect, it is very exspensive. However, if you are still interested there is financing available as well as various loans. Also, international adoption, particularly Ethiopia, is much less exspensive than domestic. It also only takes about 9-12 months to have a child home. Well, I'm rambling now. I have such a heart for adoption and get excited about it easily. :-) Well, I will be praying that your dreams of mommyhood will be fullfilled. :-)

LOL! I *only* got a chance to lay by the beach twice. Hubby just wanted to drive back and forth, back and forth, from one end of the island to the other and explore. We did go on a catamaran snorkel cruise, and an open door helicopter ride. But because he got sunburned feet, he wasn't able to wear his hiking shoes, so no great hiking trips. He also got a horrendous cough, and they were saying it might be an allergic reaction to the "vog", the volcanic ash in the clouds hanging over the island, that blew in from Oahu. But it kind of turned into a cold. On our 7th day, I got the "cold", turned into the flu, and had a miserable last three days. Now I'm home, cold and horrible cough hanging on, and woke up with pink eye this morning. *bleah** I'm supposed to finish taking in my Edwardian white dress to wear Saturday at our costumed walkabout at the Del Mar Antiques Faire. Just hope I feel and look well enough to go.

You got it exactly right. Moving and packing in two months Cosmo, I certainly hope we get a chance to meet up some day, maybe in the Garment District, in the wonderous land of endless fabrics? Or maybe at the Marketplace during Costume College (which is open to the public, btw) I can get you in. *whink*

If you do go to Costume College (or Costume Con, for that matter) stop by the Hedgehog Handworks table and say hello to my BFF Joady.
