have you seen the workwoman's guide? www.hedgehoghandworks.com/catalog/BKCT0058.shtmlit is 1838, but some of the work within is generally thought to be earlier, indeed, some of the instruction is acceptably used in 18th c. stuff. the muffatees for instance. which i wish i could knit! yrs, julia

Clicked on your link then realised I already have the book! Noticed a knitted reticule on page 274, but at the end it reads Papier machee tops are not made for bags, which look very handsome.
