Just wanted to share that I’ve just received my new Laughing Moon Regency Corset Pattern in the mail! I haven’t had time to do anything other than to take the instructions out of the package and give them a careful look-over, but it looks like it promises to be every bit as detailed and as clear as the famous Laughing Moon Victorian corset!
The Regency “corded stays” are patterned from an extent example the pattern maker, JoAnn Peterson, has in her own collection. She’s also simplified the shapes (eliminated some of the gussets by incorporating them into primary corset pattern panels) to make a “theatrical” version which will give the proper shape but is quicker and simpler to make. As well, there are two versions of chemises included in the pattern.
VERY exciting that there is another version of long Regency stays in commercial patterns available!

I have used Laughing Moons patterns and they are true to size..... professional pattern drafting as well. Good luck sewing!

Great to have reviews of this! Thanks so much for giving us your opinions, ladies. Hope that someone will post photos of a finished garment from this pattern soon.

I am currently working on it. It goes together relatively easily, but I strongly recommend hand stitching the gussets (or at least basting them for the first pass). Then again, I almost always recommend hand-sewing gussets. It alters easily, too. Fitting on a body double is annoying since my double doesn't squish and I do. I will be altering the top edge to include a set of drawstrings to control my endowment, using a design element from a met museum extant set of stays.
