Hello everyone!
I hope it isn't out of place here to provide a notice about a Regency period/Jane Austen related bit of news. On another site I saw an article this weekend that there is a Kickstarter campaign to fund an MMO game based on Jane Austen's time. It is called "Ever Jane" and if they secure funding it sounds like it will be an amazing game!
The point of the game is to build your character's reputation via social interactions. The developers talk about balls, gossip/chatting in the village, and, eventually, giving players the ability to "own" estates in the game. The lead developer has posted a short video about herself and why she is making the game - she is a Jane Austen fan too!
I don't know if they will reach their funding goal, but there is a playable demo available (I haven't tried it yet but I intend to!).
Here is the Kickstarter link:
If that doesn't work, you can go to Kickstarter.com and search for Ever Jane. They have 27 days left to meet their funding goal, so hopefully this unique game concept will get a chance to be fully realized. If you think this sounds promising, please consider publicizing this game so that it can maybe attract more backers.
Thank you for reading this far! And I am sorry if this was off topic for this section.
