So far all I've been able to do is post a link to my online album. I don't see any instructions on how to do it here. Val

I asked that same question to our admin and this is what she said: You can't upload pictures here, you can only 'steal' the images from other sites. So if the images you're wanting to share are already on the web, find them, and right click on them, choosing "Properties" A window will pop up with the image information. Highlight the Address (URL) with your mouse and then hit "Ctrl-C" You would paste (ctrl-V) this address/url in between the brackets of the img boxes. (example) Now if the images are on your computer, you can upload them to a storage site for free. A good one is www.flickr.com. Sign up, upload pictures, and then figure out the url/address when they're up. Be sure when you copy them that you leave out any letters or figures that come after the .jpg. If they're not pasting right, send me the url and I'll do it for you.

I am fairly sure that that is hotlinking and people get really upset about it pretty often because it is stealing their bandwidth. You should just save it to a flicker or photobucket account to be safe if it is not your own image.

That is direct-linking but Flickr and such sites are set up for that purpose.
If you have an online album, you need only select the image you want to post here,
right click on it and click "Properties"
Highlight and copy the location/URL address (ctrl-C)
And then paste it on your post between the img codes.

Val, I don't know if you're thinking of your LJ album. I'm not sure that one is set up for transfer to other sites...
I have a PhotoBucket account (it's free) which I load all my images onto. I can then post them on any bulletin board I want simply by copying the "Image" code and pasting it in the message box on the bulletin board.

I have an online album with pbase.com, that I pay for. But I wanted to just post a single picture that I had that wouldn't necessarily be in the album. I guess I can do another album there with just things I want to show. I also have a Flicker album I could use also. I'll work on it. Thanks!

I have a question, and as usual I can't figure out the proper place to post it!
I notice that Miss Ida has a "banner" that always shows under her posts. But when I look under "modify profile", I don't see a place for that.
Does she just do it by linking the image through the "signature" option?

You just use the same code used in these comments to insert a web-image. Try to keep it discreet. Ida's is pretty much as large as they should be just to keep the threads readable. I'm going to add an ORS banner in mine just because. ::snork::
