The main part of this book is a collection of patterns taken from actual garments. The text includes a brief overview of men's clothes through various centuries, plus a number of primary source quotations.
Unfortunately, there is very little material for the Regency era, though there is a fair amount for the Georgian period immediately preceeding it. The reconstructed coat patterns jump from 1790 to 1825, with nothing in between.
