The answer is yes, you could. If my husband can do it, anyone can. What you're looking at there are almost all first-timers dancing. There are only 4-5 experienced ECD dancers among them. Wow. I'm impressed with how well you are all doing, given the number of first-timers. It looked really good. Who was your caller?

His name is Chuck, our VP & Secretary brought him up from Eugene, where he normally teaches ECD classes.

Have to agree with this: Although, I refer to MY husband, of course! We recently began ECD, and it's very doable for the NON-dancer! Of course, there are people who do it with more grace or flare, but even the rythmically challenged (ie: my husband! ) can do this, and have a lot of fun with it! (Naturally it's more enjoyable if you're in a group where you feel comfortable running like a chicken to catch up when you've missed steps, and laughing at yourselves like silly! ;D)

It looks like fun! Cosmo, you look adorable! Your cat-eye glasses are not so far off the ones I'm wearing right now! Too cute! And I'd say it looks like everyone is doing VERY well with the dancing. This from a woman with two left feet!

What a lovely party! And such pretty well-dressed attendees. I had to stop the slideshow a few times to take closer looks at some of the gowns, and hair ornaments. I especially liked your friend's headwrap here www.flickr.com/photos/herodyssey/2317080129/in/set-72157603885569806/ Do you know what kind of material she used for it? It seems to have a nice texture for doing that. And, HELLO Cosmo! You looked awesome! It looks like the bonnets went over very well too.

That friend of mine is Thea Peck, the VP of the ORS. I'll ask her about the turban for you. I know the blue is made from the same damask/jaquard fabric her robe is made from... I'm not sure what the white fabric is.

That raffle got us about $150 in funds... not bad eh? Anyway, Val... Thea's reponse was the following: "Hey girlie -
It was a real hack job, to be honest! I just took some extra fabric from my dress and pelisse, wrapped them twice around my head to measure them, then Lisa sewed them down one side to make them into two longs tubes. We then just twisted them together, wrapped it around my head and pinned it with some safety pins...voila! we were going to add some ostrich feathers but never got around to it."

The blue fabric is a light damask or jaquard. It isn't very heavy; almost like silk.
The white part of her lower gown is just an average weight cotton or synthetic.
