Thanks Dawn. That's Angela Holland-Sniff in the window-patterned gown. Her little girl Brontë is indeed adorable. I love her tiny spencer. Angela's page is here: www.oregonregencysociety.com/ahs.htm. Her email is on available there (in image form) She's really great. You'll adore her.

The pattern is S&S, and I've seen that fabric in various colours at the local fabric store. She wore that dress at the August 07 event as well. She's a very elegant woman.

Dear Major,
It sounds as though you need to make your way to Oregon to attend some events. Especially for those ladies whose husbands are less than excited about Regency things. Luckily, mine is a good sport about it, and willingly lets me dress him.

Indeed, with the many more social events on the West Coast than out here on the plains, I do wish I could make it out there with some frequency. How much fun it could be!
Your husband and I could get along famously. Especially if he likes the part of a Regency gentleman.

My DH allows me to dress him, no problem, but he is very unenthusiastic about dancing, or being social, or playing 'the role' so to speak, and he certainly will duck out of women-imbued events such as the tea. He's a taciturn, quiet sort of soul, and not outwardly social by nature; and I think if he's out of his comfort zone (i.e. dressed in regency garb) he is even further discomforted.

Dear Major,
He is becoming more interested in becoming a refined Regency Gentleman. I'm quite excited :-) We spent about 3 hours online last night researching his costume. He said he's enjoying it. For him it is a nice diversion from Dental School and for me it's a great opportunity to hang out with him :-) And yes, I think you both would get on famously.
