I thought I'd start a boys' thread just so we could add some costumes as we find them; like skeleton suits, etc. I found this on Deviant-art at the HistoryFashionLovers group. It's marked as an 'early regency costume'... which is evident by the cut of the frock-coat and the waistcoat... but it looks great nonetheless, I adore the breeches.

Good call!!!
Does anyone know of a good pattern for boys coats? I would prefer a pattern appropriate for War of 1812, but could probably modify something.
I have a jacket with sleeves pattern that really isn't very good (can't think of the maker and pattern name off hand, but I'll look it up). The cut is not right, doesn't include tails, etc.

I don't know if it's a "good" pattern, but Rocking Horse Farms has two boys patterns, one for younger (which I'm planning to make up sometime to make a skeleton suit) and one for older boys - but I don't think the little coat has tails - it's a "round-about".

Hi Dawn,
I know the pattern I have is not RHF. I will order the older boys pattern and check it out. It has to be better than the one I have (still can't remember the maker, but know it's not RHF). Thanks!
