I lived in Chula Vista for most of my school years (seems a lot longer) and I don't recall any historic homes. Where were you? What did I miss? Really!? I'm a native Chula Vistan, since 1955. Went to Kellogg Elementary, Hilltop jr, Hilltop High. And I worked for the PD for 37 years. I live in the East County now. Most of the historic homes are scattered around the older parts of the city but a large number of them are on Del Mar btn 2nd & 3rd, and I St to J St. Some have been moved behind homes with those huge lots on 2nd Ave. If you go here www.cvhistorichomes.com/ it tells you about the tour, and also lists all the homes on the Historic Registry. Many are Victorian and Craftsman.

I don't remember any of them although I lived on the same block as the Damron house in 1957, 380 D St., IIRC. At that age, I'm sure I didn't notice anything "historic" about it but then, again, it was 50 years newer then. I went to Emory elementary and CV JH and HS. We live in IB for about 4 years, as well. I had a good friend who went to Hilltop but she was class of '68, a few years ahead of you, I think.

It's Friday again! Yay! My plans:
1) get through work unscathed. 2) join friends for wine after work. 3) Get grandma in and out of stores on Saturday with lighting speed (I'm dreaming of course... she likes to go down EVERY AISLE. 4) enjoy what remains of Sat. evening 5) make bonnets; I've been procrastinating. Also work on Esty artwork and get them to printer asap. Marathon Buffy Season 3 all the while...
That's it.
What about youz guyz?

Fan, shoe and parasol what? :::perk::: Happy Anniversary! How lovely. Dan & I will be three years married in October as well. I'm also excited to see the Narnia movie. I loved those books so much as a child... I remember my eyes getting all teary and misty when I saw the preview for the first movie.

You two are newlyweds. I will be celebrating my I think my 7th anniversary in September. In my refusal to accept that I am going to be 30 soon, I stopped claiming any anniversary over 5 years.

It's funny, because most of our friends are older than us and we are the seasoned married couple :-P But we did get married fairly young. I was 21 and he was 23.

Now that finals are over, cleeeeeeeeean the house. Then go spend time with friends. Then wander around muttering about how long it takes fabric to arrive in the mail, and where are my patterns?!

Stay indoors, for starters! It's supposed to get to 95d+ today, and hotter this weekend. Perfect for staying inside and doing some serious sewing. As you will see, I finished my Regency corset! Yay me! Today I am cutting out my Regency chemise, and a day cap for a Colonial outfit. I need some things to do handwork on next Friday (more on that in a minute) Then I'm cutting out the open robes for my Regency ball gown. Two different ones, pink and a periwinkle blue. Girl needs a little variety and I think they'll be pretty easy to make. I'm going to sew the muslin for my Regency dress and once I have someone that can lace me into my corset, I can try it on, and get it fitted so I can cut out the dress too. And I have to see if my neighbor can help me take in an 1850s costume I have. Next Friday, I and two other ladies from my guild are dressing in Civil War (not my specialty) and will be parading in them, along with some reenactor soldiers at our local middle school. We only have to show off our clothes. I am so hoping it cools down again by then, because mine is a heavier Winter outfit, dark navy blue. I have to take that in now too. I didn't plan on it, as I was going to sell it, but it's the only thing close to CW that I have. I plan on doing some handsewing on either my Regency chemise or the day cap while I'm sitting there. In between the week, we're having the downstairs bathroom cabinet torn out and putting in new cabinet and mirror, so I'll be painting in there again. Busy week for me, I would say.

Cosmo, how old is your little girl? She'll be 2 in June. How cute :-) I love little kids. They're so fun at that age. Well, at least from what I've observed. I don't have kids but I'm looking forward to having them someday... sigh... Must get hubby through Dental School first :-)
