Another review from livejournal: The Sailor's Word Book by Admiral W.H. Smyth. This one was first published in 1867, rather after the Regency, but the author lived and served in the ships of the era as a young man, and the dictionary includes a lot of terms in use at the time. This book is an excellent reference work, very useful if you get stuck on a technical term while reading Forester or O'Brien, such as "cat-harpings", or when wondering what W.S. Gilbert meant by "to ship a selvagee". www.amazon.com/gp/product/0851779727/
