After Val's description of Costume College, I figured I should mention Costume-Con, which is a costuming convention that is held in a different city each year. This year, in April, it will be held in San Jose, California, right in my back yard, so to speak. www.cc26.info/Costume-Con should appeal to anyone interested in costuming, should it be historical or science-fiction in nature. There are two big stage-masquerades, and many other events, including a props competition (science-fair-style) that will be run by Lady Egg and myself!

Or, why Mr. Goblin hasn't been sewing anything Regency lately. We went to Costume Con 26. We entered the historical masquerade. I wish I could show you the video clip of our presentation, but the group picture will have to do: www.flickr.com/photos/8145334@N06/2448510182/in/set-72157604744209880/In case you are wondering, our entry was An Evil Satinist Cult. Each person made a costume from a different era, in a different color of satin. Mine is 1750's European (and boy, that was a labor of.. well, something difficult). Lady Egg's is 1600's Korean. Our cult leader wore a conga(sic?) shirt with sleeves in all the colors of our outfits. Here's another picture of me without my coat, and the altar we revealed on stage: www.flickr.com/photos/arabellabenson/2453266654/(Master Teo likes the shiny.)

Chris, I saw quite a few pics of your costumes on different CosCon albums people were sharing. They looked very nice.
