I've been dealing with some personal issues (and marital...) it seems the long-distance job for my husband is taking its toll on on things, and it's a lot of work to keep things on an even keel. It's even interfered with ORS activities (or lack thereof) however I'm determined to change this. I won't let all this stress get in the way of the things I love. So first off... We had a lovely bonnet workshop. Some amazing results and some very successful testing for my bonnet pattern. Pictures here: www.flickr.com/photos/herodyssey/sets/72157613501420261/Steph

I really wanted to attend this, but it was my birthday weekend, and my family got dibs on my time! The hats turned out beautifully.

Wow, I love Elora's soft poke bonnet. Makes my fingers itchy to do one. I wish someone around here would do some bonnet classes. I haven't done anything like that yet, or I'd give it a shot. Nothing worse than an idiot trying to teach others. I'm still waiting for our local college to offer the other two millinery classes so I can learn how to make the buckram forms, and shaping straws. I've only taken Millinery I and that's just learning now to cover and sew trim on. I can do that! Good job on teaching, Steph! Hang in there, it's tough having a long distance relationship. I hope you're both able to weather this thru. Val

I so wish I could have attended. Alas, I had to work. Oh well, hopefully the next one will work out. Sorry about the troubles you've been having. It seems like things are just crazy for everyone I talk too. For me, it's been work issues. Sales are down and everyone is worried about their jobs. No fun!
I think we all need a Regency day to get our minds off of things.
I love the pictures.

They did turn out nicely. It was a nice test of the pattern. I'm going to make myself a new bonnet; I bought some really beautiful striped silk tafetta for it.
