Hey folks -
I just finished school (for the moment, anyway), and now I'm looking at a whole lot of time on my hands. It's always nicer to sew with other people around, so I was thinking... would anyone be interested in a sewing circle of some kind? I like in SE Portland (near Reed College), and my house is small but pretty well-lit. This wouldn't be period-specific sewing.
It'll probably take a little while to organize, since first I have to finish moving, but if there's interest I'll organize it. I'm thinking a weekly or bi-monthly thing, so let me know what parts of the week are best for you.
We do have a cat and two ferrets, so if you're allergic that may be a problem. The ferrets are de-scented.

Hey dahlin,
Yes, that is a great idea. There is a sewing group already with the Greater Portland Area Costuming Guild.. they have a yahoo group that often posts events like embellishing circles and such. I'll forward you the email to the group if you drop me a line at the orregencySPLATmsn.com address.
But if you'd like to organize and ORS event, feel free to set a time and day, shoot me an email, and I'll send an announcement to the ORS membership and post it as an ORS event on our website.

Oh, cool. I have been to the GPACG webpage, but they never seem to update. I didn't realize the mailing list was more active. I think I may also do something, but only once I've thrown back the cardboard horde (alas, moving from a large house into a small one).
