Pink and Red Charity Event
I’ve got a favour to ask you all.
In a little more than a week I’m going to the Sewing and Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, Washington. Is anyone else here going? I’d love to meet you if you will be there!
This is one of North America’s largest sewing conferences. For the most part, people who participate in this event do not have ‘historic clothing’ anywhere on their radar. These shows cater primarily to quilters and modern sewers.
This year the Sewing and Stitchery Expo has joined forces with Coats and Clark to present a fundraiser fashion show. The proceeds will go to support Breast Cancer and Heart and Stroke foundations. Naturally, the theme is “Red and Pink Fashion”.
Well, what a great opportunity to support and participate in a great charity event and to also try for the opportunity to introduce these people to the fun of historic clothing! I’ve combined forces with a friend and her sisters and we have represented through clothing members of our families who have struggled with these diseases. Our goal is to be chosen to be on the runway.
This pelisse represents the founding date for the Coats and Clark thread company – Founded in Paisley Scotland in 1812. COOL! I can do 1812! ;oD
What I want to ask you all to do: Please go to the Burda website and sign in. It’s completely free. The website is a bit of a challenge, for which I apologize in advance - But we need your votes!
