I love making costumes, hence the name "History Maker" and I love most historical periods for one reason or another. However, I'm a huge fan of Colin Firth and the Pride and Prejudice mini-series, along with all of Jane Austen's works. I think the gowns are flattering and the high collar men's garments are just divine to look at. I'm glad I don't have to wear them every day, but still..... they are so romantic!
Another thing I particularly like about the period is how flattering the dresses were to most figures. It was a nice period, with less restrictive undergarments and stays. Some of the hairdos left a little to be desired - but an interesting era of fashion, court and history.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Respectfully, HM

Welcome and why 1066 -- which to me suggests a very different era.
I agree the Regency was a fascinating period and in many respects more liberating for women than the Victorian era that followed.

I agree that the Regency was a romantic time and the fashions of both ladies and gents were becoming. I may be one of the few gentlemen that truly likes the romance of the era.
