The Funeral of General Daniel Smith October 29, 1748 – June 16, 1818 Join us as we memorialize our local friend, Businessman, Surveyor, Revolutionary War Veteran and State Senator, General Daniel Smith. Wear your mourning clothes as we gather in the General's house for a recreation of the actual 1818 memorial service, then follow the horse-drawn wagon in procession up to the Family Cemetery adjacent to the house to lay flowers on the General's grave. Our event will be followed that evening by a local storytellers group in various stations on the property telling scary stories of the Halloween Season! Mourning dress of the 1790-1820 period admired, but not required for this 'open to the public' event
