I mean, how can you beat those gorgeous costumes, and the wonderful actors in the Masterpiece Theatre edition of P&P last night? I think every single one of the actors in it were wonderful. And I stared till my eyes were blurry at the costumes. So much variety and color. And thank God! Six hours of it!

I actually didn't watch it. I switched to PBS and my husband says: "Aww, c'mon, you have that on DVD for C's Sake!"
Alas, he's right, so I let him have the television for the night while I uploaded pictures to Flickr.
I never get tired of that adaptation. I can watch it over and over and over again. And yes, the costumes always make me want to go fabric shopping.

One of the things I like about the costuming in this series is that rather than providing costumes for the principal actors, the costume designer provided a wardrobe, and gave the actors a lot of leeway over what to wear depending on climate, etc.

The costumes of Regency movies are always so beautiful. As much as I love jeans, once in a while I wouldn't mind something more elegant for everyday.

That was my first seeing that adaptation of P&P, and I really did enjoy it, but the 2005 movie is still my favorite. I am just IN LOVE with Matthew MacFayden!!
I think I am going to watch Emma tonight, that is another favorite...
