Is there a regency to-do going on in your neck of the wood in January? Post it here for all to see.

This isn't our neck of the woods, but in Southern California, they have a very fun afternoon tea/evening ball every year. www.lahacal.org/austen/But they appear to already be sold out....

The Bay Area English Regency Society is hosting a Musicale evening in lieu of a dance party the second Friday in January at 8pm at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palo Alto.
Come to hear selections from and discussion of regency era music. James Langdell and our very own Divertimento Dance Orchestra will entertain, as well as a selection of guest singers and musicians. $10 donation suggested.

For those who may be interested and in the area...there's a little thing here in South Louisiana, at the Chalmette Battlefield January 11 & 12, 2008. It is the annual commemmoration of the Battle of New Orleans. There will be re-enactors from all over the country representing the military (American & British) as well as civilians. Its a lovely learning experience.

This isn't really an event but more of a gathering for tea I'm trying to organize. I live in NE Ohio and am planning a meet up of sorts at the Grand Pacific Junction in Olmsted Falls, Oh. The tentative date is Sat. Feb. 9. The time has yet to be determined. Probably around 2. We do require the attendees to be in Regency dress. This includes the men too. If you are interested in coming, please let me know. You can email me at sarhaclembys@hellokitty.com.

Welcome Sarha!
Are you part of a regency group? Perhaps you want to add it to the groups category so you can make announcements there as well.

Ida, as you friend Miranda on Myspace said, perhaps you can start a Jane Austen group, or a Regency group in Denmark. I'm sure if you look around, you can find more people like you! Otherwise, you're welcome to visit Oregon anytime. I have a guestroom.

Dear Allseeing RSA, Currently I am not in a group, I've only started getting seriously into this. Do you know of any in my area by chance? I will do a search as well of course.

If you go to this link, perhaps you can find an established group in your area. If not, I'm going to start a 'workshop' on starting a group like the oRS for folks here on RSA. www.oregonregencysociety.com/groups.htm

Please keep me posted on the workshop you will be holding. As I mentioned before, we have nothing of the sort in my area. (Florida) and I plan on starting one up. I have the website all ready to go. I just don't know where to start from there as far as getting people involved. Do you have to have any special permits or paperwork to put together such an organization?

Go to the main page, and scroll down to "Specific Regency Groups" under there is a board called "Creating a Group" I've started posting there. Feel free to post questions on the threads as I go along. -- or you can just click here: regencysa.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=groupcreate
