Jean Hunnisett's books are theatrical standards. The patterns are all taken from original period garments and sized to a modern size 12. There are 2 "Outerwear" books with patterns pertinent to Regency and the "1800-1909" book has several dress patterns that are all suitable. Also included is information on petticoats, and a corset/stays pattern. She also offers a "bodiced petticoat" pattern, indicating that it's a practical garment, but she's never seen a period bodiced petticoat designed as a support garment.
Just a little background info, Jean Hunnisett was a contemporary of Janet Arnold.
