What do you mean by single layer? The one I have (almost finished) has the two layers, coutil and lining. The 1780s has three layers, dupioni silk outside sewn together with a lightweight twill for support, then coutil on the inside. The coutil is what gives you the support, along with the boning. And you want something btn you and the boning.

The only single layer one I have at the moment is a linen one from the Sense and Sensibility pattern, but it would be really easy to make the one you just made (or one in a similar long style), using bone casing tape.
