I am running out of time and my daughter is sick/teething again so I get no peace. What should I do about my gown.

Don't panic, you have two full days and part of Saturday. Poor dear.

You can do it.

Murphy's Law is wreaking havoc on my gown. For example I do not have enough of my trim and Fabric Depot was all out. Which means the dress that I wear to the party will be a WIP.

That's fine. WIP is more than acceptable.

Okay, I'm going to be dumb here: What's "WIP"? Cosmo, make the dress good enough to wear for the one eveing. Even if that means using a glue stick to tack up the hem (works really well, by the way!) You can even use the glue stick to add lace if you like. It washes out quickly and easily and it makes a great "basting" tool! Babies need and deserve attention. Everyone understands that. Add flowers to your hair or some other fun and snazzy "quick" idea and everyone will look at the flowers in your hair. Go to the party and have a great time and finish up the details on the dress later.

Work In Progress.
And here here to that, Dawn. I agree wholeheartedly. I am looking foward to seeing Cosmo on Saturday; I'll be very disappointed if she chickens out.

Many times I've had to baste trim on just to get to the one event. I've heard others have pinned things shut. Be a beautiful Work In Progress!

If it makes you feel better, I had to sew my aunt into her dress for the ball, I didn't have time to do buttons.

Well, I went and this is what I wore. Not perfect. Not even finished, but I wasn't in my underwear. I really wish that I had made a petticoat.

Ooh ooh ooh! So pretty! I love the contrast of the white against your skin, and those trimmings on your sleeves are wonderful! I look like a bleached limpet shell in white. At least your bra gave you some lift. I'll bet you got lots of compliments.

Well, Cosmo, you look positively smashing!!! The gown looks really great! The petticoat will come (in time) I'd love a close up of the drop front bodice. Are you pleased with how it turned out? Pat yourself on the back!!! It's really, really beautiful. The sleeve detail is intriguing as well. Close-up of those too, please! ;D

I love color, so I'm always a little underwhelmed by all the plain white regency dresses out there....but this looks amaaaazing against your skin!

The shape of it reminds me of this gown: ' If you look at some of the other pictures from the ball, you get a good idea of how the back looks. It is REALLY gorgeous, Cosmo, you should be so proud.

There were two markedly different and very pretty white dresses on saturday; and they were both the nicest gowns there IMHO; Cosmo's gown being one of them. The other was worn by a tall woman with jewels in her hair. You're right about the colour against her skin. It was striking; and what I REALLY loved is how she managed to wrangle all that hair into a bun AND weave a band through it most artfully. I'm so impressed with Cosmo I can't stop talking about her. LOL
