I'm not sure about the massive bow on the back, but it is pretty. I really like the colour.

That is very pretty! Though less pretty when I saw the price.

The pelisse is beautiful. It makes me wish I could sew.

The same seller has this dress on ebay too: tinyurl.com/24uhu8If you look at the pelisse page, on the bottom, the bidder is going to use this as her wedding gown.

The type of lace is incorrect but a stand up collar is period correct

Looks like she has the first one up for sale again tinyurl.com/2vpml2I wish I had $340 to throw around, and it was a 16. The red one is gorgeous too. The pelisse one is similar to what I want to do with my plum striped fabric. But this gives me an idea to make the dress out of the champange poly-dupioni I just bought, with another color for the pelisse. I'll bet she's using Butterick pattern 4890 for it. tinyurl.com/2lomw2

OK, you guys really have my juices going. Now I'm thinking if I can't find a solid plum-ish color for the gown of this outfit, I'm going to make the dress out of the champange, and hunt for something new for the pelisse instead. *sad* because I really liked that plum. But it could just be a dress itself, kind of like Caroline Bingley's morning dress. (If you're a P&P fan, you KNOW which one that is. ) If you need a reminder: www.demodecouture.com/galleries/regency/

Val, this lady does lovely work, but this is modern elegance with a historic twist. The big "kitty-cat" bow is not accurate for this period. And I’m not convinced her sleeve shapes are right. Use her work as inspiration but don't copy her style details unless you find it again in your other research.

That *is* the butterick pattern. The sleeves are really way too pouffy. She obviously used the butterick pattern for hte red and black gown too... it completely lacks any gathering at the back. She tends to 'romanticize' these gowns, by adding embellishments that are not particularly period.

There's no way I would ever put a bow like that on my gowns. I'm waaay too old for that. It's the look of the pelisse and gown that I'm going for. I do like the trim she has on the gown tho, and the little jewel on the bodice. And I need sleeves that are a little longer to cover my upper arms.
