Do all chemisettes have ruffles? All of those edges would take a long time to finish and I am wondering if there are any quicker to finish versions. I am pretty sure that there is at least one in P&P, but I was just wondering what else there was.

The only sources I've bumped into all had the ruffles. They were called "Betsy's" in the States. The name is a reference to Queen Elizabeth I and an Elizabethan ruffle. They don’t all have round necklines though. There are quite a few “v” neck chemisettes and occasionally a very high “mannish” styled collar treatment shows up. I think you could get away with a small ruffle or bit of lace at the neckline of a “v” if you’re looking for something different.
