Does anyone have someone who helps them fit and pin their garments. I think that that is what I miss the most about design school. I need someone to help me pin everything, or at least help me make a duct tape dummy (or two) one with stays and one without. How do you get adequate fit without actually pinning on your self? It is so much easier to make clothes for other people for that reason.

I think we're reasonably close enough that I could help you if need be, Cosmo. It won't be until after the holidays, regrettably, I'm off to NY for a few days next week, and I have a very busy work schedule.

Steph - That would be awesome. I don't think that I will have anything to fit until after the holidays anyway. I have much drafting/draping, cutting, pinning, and sewing. Of course I would gladly return the favor.

I think this is the eternal lament. Despite living with a fantastic costumer, my husband insists "girl clothes are hard!" and I often have to coach him through fittings. (I'm still better at fitting him than he is at fitting me. ;-) )
Locally to me we have tried to get informal sewing buddies together to help fit things, but with our busy lives and schedules, this is not as simple as it first appears.
