It's so quiet here, it must be lovely outside or something.
So what are your weekend plans?
I simply *must* see Iron Man, or I'll simply perish, so we're going tonight after meeting inlaws at "Calamity Jane's" for oversized burgers.
Saturday we're going to dinner with some of my husband's ex-coworkers from the now defunct Consolidated Freightways auditing department, where I plan to force a detourto Fabric Depot on our way down so I can stock up on fabrics and supplies...
Then Sunday, I intend to hole up on the mountain and sleep until ten and then do little nothings all day!
::ahh... I love Fridays::

I plan on sewing and cleaning tomorrow. As well as working in my garden. Then Sunday Aaron is taking me to Multnoma Falls for a hike. I'm quite excited :-) Sounds like you have a lovely weekend in store.

Weekend plans? Oh, right, Costume Con is over, so I have weekends again. We might go to Filoli Gardens ( www.filoli.org/). Or we might not. It's lovely having free time again, with no commitments.

Hopefully continuing working on my corset. I am SO ready to start my dress. On Sat I have a meeting at 11 for a historic home tour next weekend that we have a tea garden in. I'm making and serving the tea. I'll be wearing my Edwardian lingerie dress I made, with an antique hat. On Sunday, if I'm feeling up to it, hubby and I are driving up to our local mountains for the day and have lunch. Other option is to see a movie. We also want to see IronMan. I love anything Robert Downey Jr is in.

We just returned from a wake for a friend who died a few weeks ago. (Get those annual check-ups ladies!!!) Tomorrow evening my DH and I will interpret the undertaker's establishment at our museum during an event called The Cattlemen's Ball. I doubt there will be actual dancing going on but they are promising to feed us. Twice if we stay until 10. How badly do I really want the burgers and brats for dessert? Sunday, ECD, Monday, Victorian social dance, rinse and repeat as needed.

I am going to work. Where I will wipe buns and earn points in heaven. Then I shall come home. Where I will wipe buns and try not to lose my points in heaven by silently cursing my children. Then I shall go to bed. Where I shall dream of heavenly buns. CINNAMON buns, of course.
Oh yes, and I will spend what scant spare time I have shamelessly begging people to come to my dance workshop on May 11 in Eugene (nudge nudge).
Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend - especially you, oh great and powerful RSA

This morning was a therapy dog visit to a local nursing home. We are off to see Ironman this afternoon, then we'll watch the Ky. Derby at 6:00 (it's practically a religious observation here in Louisville).
Tomorrow I have a big project/paper to finish up for a graduate class. I've finally cut the fabric for my chemise so I'll start on that hopefully. Somewhere in there I hope to get a little quiet time to cuddle up with the pups and read a good book (currently Austen's P & P).
Monday is off to work (ugh!) and contra dance in the pm (yeah!).

Hubby's desire to go and commiserate with his old colleagues wasn't powerful enough to draw him off the mountain I guess, and I spent the day flopped out doing nothing except loving on the dogs... which was heavenly. I'm sort of glad about FD, because 40% is good, and I can't afford to spend much, but at the same time, I can barely tolerate the crowds that sale brings. It takes longer to check out than to get your fabric cut.

When I checked out there was only one person in front of me. I ended up not getting any costume stuff just stuff to make modern clothes for DD. I just could make a regency decision without you there.

I love anything Robert Downey Jr is in. Not only was the movie great, but it had lots of shots of R.D. Jr. in a tank top. Seriously, how can you go wrong with that. Yummy!

I’ve been away again – most of last week moving two daughters (actually still in process of moving the second one – at least one is settled) and the first re-enactment of the season (for us) at Longwoods. Cold and raining (a LOT of rain! ) all day Saturday but glorious sunshine on Sunday. (Thank heaven! Putting wet gear away is no fun!)

Be happy you were dry and warm! It was a cold blowing rain over both nights for the campers. Have to say, the sunshine was beautiful on Sunday.

I know this thread is from a previous weekend but it should work every week, don't you think? I'm not dressing Regency this weekend, but Edwardian. Today was the Historic Home Tour in Chula Vista, and I made the tea that was served in the tea garden of one old home. I gave out 35 flyers for my tea catering business too. Hope that brings some bookings in for me. I was wearing my Edwardian lingerie dress that I made from a Shabby Chic shower curtain from Target. The fabric is a white embroidered cotton bastiste, very similar to a vintage fabric. A friend of mine had made her Regency dress, using LaMode Bagatelle's pattern, with the same fabric, and it was beautiful. Tomorrow I'm going to a tea at the historic Marston House, in Balboa Park, San Diego, and will be again wearing my white dress. I still have about 12 more eyelets to stitch in my Regency corset, so I'm resisting cutting out any fabrics for my gowns until that's done. I do however have my fabrics stacked up on my table, tantalizing me, and I'm itching to start cutting.

I lived in Chula Vista for most of my school years (seems a lot longer) and I don't recall any historic homes. Where were you? What did I miss?
