No, I didn't buy any silver. It got voted down, and I agreed. Now I'm needing feedback. If I get a chance, I'll pin the gold on the pink robe too, so you can see it's effect. It's a softer gold and I like it alot. But it's a smaller pattern.

I agree, Val, the clasp is the perfect touch. And the trim looks very pretty as well. You're going to be the prettiest princess!

I have quite a bit of the gold trim sewn on both gowns, but it's taking quite awhile. Having it go all the way down both sides and around the back of the train takes 7 yds, which means even tho I'm machine sewing it on, it still takes a long time. I have to hand tack the points on one trim because it will fold under if it gets wrinkled. And my pattern said I needed 7 yds of the trim but I didn't see anything about more for the belt. I HOPE I get to go to the Garment District again later this week and get more, but am thinking of an alternative for a contrasting gold trim. I'm still considering adding a self fabric "belt" in the middle so it looks more like the open robes worn in S&S. And I'm getting gold-greedy. Now I want to sew a gold trim to the bottom of the white gown also, when it's done. Pearls, gold, tiaras, you name it, it's going to be there.

I was out all day running around with girlfriends and shopping, so I'm going to sew the trim on and once that's done, I'll take one showing the back.

I got to go to the Garment District again today and was able to buy more gold trim for both my open robes. The pattern didn't mention (or I didnt' see) that you had to have more than the 7 yards if you wanted it to go around the bust. Duh. So my one option was to find something else that go with it, which wouldn't be bad because I noticed a variety of them on one painting. But I lucked out when the lady I'd gone with before said she had to go up again to resupply some trims. We only had three hours there but I picked my trim up, and also *finally* found the store again where I'd bought the white voile with blue embroidered flowers on and bought enough to make a Regency gown using my new pattern. It's the one on the right here www.pbase.com/cinnamonhrts/image/77557032 I'm going to finish both robes up tomorrow, and then Steph, I promise photos of the back. I took one but since there's no trim, it was really boring. I also figured out how to do a band across the front, so now it looks how I wanted it. Then I'm going to try another shot at sewing the muslin for the Reconstructing History pattern. It only has written directions, & no notches on the pattern pieces. I can't figure out how they connect together. I need drawings. But maybe by fiddling with it a couple times, I might figure it out.
