This review immediately followed the previous two in the livejournal regency_reenact community, but I split them up for this forum, so it may read a little odd: Finally, I include Nares' Seamanship 1862 by Lieutenant George S. Nares, RN, even though it is by no stretch Regency-related, because I own a copy and it's on my bookshelf next to the other two. This book was written especially as a study-guide for young officers, much of it in the form of questions and answers. Most of it concerns sailing, but there are sections on steam machinery and some fascinating pages on life saving techniques and resuscitation. My copy also contains in the back a list of other books sold by the same bookseller, which is always a good glimpse of another era. www.amazon.com/gp/product/0905418379/
