Once again I tried to try posting a photo here but it doesn't work, so I've included a link to my Flickr album My gown was made using a Truly Victorian pattern #455. The fabric is a purple and gold floral cotton, a reproduction design. This is a Romantic gown, a couple years later than Regency, and the style can be seen in the BBC series, Wives & Daughters. I was in the fashion show at the fair, and I was told mine was the nicest one there. I wore a braid halo around my head with a chignon attached to the lower back. I had two clips of tiny sausage curls on either side of my temples. I purchased the straw hat form and sewed a changeble purple taffeta ribbon to it. I can't find the website where I bought the hat tho. (If anyone recognizes it, please tell me. Many people want to know.) My accessories were a gold silk taffeta reticule (attached to my waist but now I don't like it) and a pearl encircled vintage cameo on my neckline. I was wearing my contacts so I squinted a lot, and had a hard time seeing. When I got home I tried taking them out but only got one. Later I discovered I never had the left one in, and found it on the bedroom floor, all crispy. No wonder I couldn't see! There are 3 photos in my album here www.flickr.com/photos/26036741@N00/3266237399/ Next on my list to finish are the bustle portion of a Victorian skirt, a cape, and my 1770s gown to wear to Williamsburg in April.

You look adorable, Val. Thanks for posting the pictures. Your bonnet is indeed a very nice bonnet. Too bad you can't recall where it came from. (That sort of thing happens to me too.) And you certainly deserve the praise for "the nicest gown there". You've done a really nice job of it! YAY!
