I have recently made a pair of Regency long stays with the help of my friend Courtney ('nonsuch' on this board)... well, so maybe how it actually happened was that I went over to Courtney's house and she made a pair of long stays for me and I helped a little...;o) Anyway, she would kill me if I didn't post them on here, so I will post a link to my blog post on the subject... phillipians314.blogspot.com/2009/04/regency-stays.htmlFeel free to pm me if you have any questions...

For shame! Ladyjane did the hardest bits! I will only add that we used the pattern that used to be on this website, and that yes she would be in trouble for not posting! www.19thus.com

Good job ladies! Considering where you got the pattern from, did I by any chance see these modeled at Ft. Meigs last weekend?
Looking at your ‘ruler-busk’ – Is it plastic? If it is, consider that it might be less strong than a wooden busk. I frequently make busks out of a wooden paint stick (sanded for rounded corners and to take all roughness out and remove advertising paint). You’ll find that the paint sticks are the right length… Ideally, get someone to make a busk for you out of a scrap of hard wood – ash or oak or something like.
Thanks for sharing your project!

It is a wooden ruler... I sanded the edges to make them round and smooth... I got a ruler instead of a paint stick because I thought it would be stronger, but I think it is too thick... if I knock on it while I wear it, it sounds really loud ;o)lol...
