Hi! My name is Kelly Anne Catherine, but for the purpose of this forum I dropped the Kelly... doesn't sound very appropriate for the era, to me. I've loved the Regency era ever since I was twelve and read Pride and Prejudice for the first time. Fashion and society at that time were so charming and I've wished for years that I could somehow be a part of it. Recently my love for that time period was revived by the Malory series of novels by Johanna Lindsey. I know that those are romance novels with next to no literary or historical value, but I'm not ashamed to admit I love them. XD To tell you a little bit about myself, I'm eighteen years old and I'm currently in college studying as an English major. I hope to be an English teacher one day, as well as a published author. As far as the Regency era goes, I would love to get involved in local events and I am attempting to learn how to make my own costumes. We'll see how that goes later on.

Welcome, Anne Catherine! I am pleased that you could join us! You're an English major? How delightful! I have a great interest in English grammar, which did not come about until my sophomore year in high school (I had a good English teacher that year!). Yes, the fashion and society of the Regency were indeed charming! Welcome, a thousand times welcome! Christine

Welcome! Am I correct that you are the lady I directed here from livejournal? In either case, welcome.
At least you are not saddled with an undeniably Italian last name, as I am!

Yep, that's me! Nice to see you over here. I don't have an Italian last name, but I do have an Irish one, which has been abandoned along with my first name. Catherine is an adopted "second middle name" from my childhood, when I decided just one wasn't enough. My obsession with Wuthering Heights when I was little inspired it.
