Hello, everyone!
My typical MO is to throw myself unabashedly into whatever my newest passion is, which I have managed to do yet once again with the Regency Society. No sooner had I joined JASNA than I received an e-mail from one of the ORS members about a work in progress based on "Persuasion," which I naturally attended. The cellist was really splendid and turned a staged reading into a ruminative experience. Since the e-mail address revealed the ORS, I went plundering on-line (I'm getting in shape for tomorrow's Talk Like a Pirate Day) to discover the website. Oh, frabjous joy! From there, it was a very quick step to the excellent Lavender's Green to order a riding habit for the Faux Fox Hunt and spending occasional Friday evenings at ECD with wonderful live music, a truly transcendental experience. I discovered Georgette Heyer last year, thanks to the gorgeous Richard Armitage's audiobooks, and have been devouring them when time permits. I was an actress in the S.F. Bay area before I relocated to Portland, and somehow along the way I've agreed to appear as Jane Austen at an upcoming event. Since I am by no means a Janeite scholar, I'm in the delicious position currently of feasting on movies and biographies and other Austenalia morsels. So, those are a few of my nutshells, amongst my many bags. I'm really looking forward to attending other events and meeting many of you!
