I would LUUUV a sitting room that looked like this. Unfortunately it won't let me save the picture for future reference or decorating ideas.

They are here: www.flickr.com/photos/herodyssey/sets/72157604031635939/They really are very nice... a bit cluttery and overdone in some rooms, but otherwise, I wouldn't be upset if it fell into my lap.

SQEEEE!!! I love all of it!!! I wish I could buy it. Thank you for the save. We want it very badly. One of my friends who lives outside of London is going to take a look at it this week and tell me if it is as amazing as it seems.

I just want out of my apartment....dang california. Nine million dollars is expensive even for California. But it does seem gorgeous. I have to ask Lady Egg what she thinks of the kitchen layout, though, before commenting on how liveable it really is. :-) Houses on the Royal Crescent in Bath occasionally come up for sale. I wonder how much they go for?

According to the Realtor, and the floor plan, the one end of the kitchen opens up completely into the court yard, if the folding walls are utilised I cannot wait to her back from my friend with what she thinks of it!

That's one of my favourite parts of that building.. the rooms are pretty small, but that courtyard is absolutely lovely, a private outdoor space that feels like a room. And the divided light windows looking out into it... so pretty.

And most things in London are a lot smaller than in most of the US. Our flat is 682sq ft, which is a really nice size for the area. It reminds me a bit of the places I have been in NYC. It is small, but is so well kept and done up for a 300 year old house. Can you tell I am already convinced by it ? and above the kitchen is a conservatory room that over looks the courtyard, too!

I'll have to content myself with my 800 sq. ft. cottage by the mountain. Can't beat the whopping price of $114,900 (four years ago, it's 'supposedly' worth almost 2x as much now). And it's got a nice quiet, forested quarter acre too. Being poor isn't so bad. ::smirk:: BUT When my book is optioned for a multi-million dollar movie (and it's going to happen, mark my words... ::smirk: Then I'll build my elizabethan manor with period furnishings somewhere quiet, with Friesians, Dales ponies and a fat donkey cantering over the pastures. Ahhh....

Sounds fair. And if it gets you that flat in London, you will have to let us come and visit if we're in town to see it for ourselves. ::rudely inviting herself::
And yes... I *do* want to see your library. Ha!

On our little walk yesterday, we discovered a 700 sq. ft. cabin (adorable) on .22 acres with an outdoor fireplace, two out-buildings (one garage, one work-shed, on a forested lot, stone fireplace (with moss and ferns growing at the top, so cool)... near the river like we are.
They just reduced it to $209,000. Very cute. About an hour from PDX. If I had the money, I'd buy it just for renting out. We're so close to skiing and such... But we dont' have the $$ or the time to deal with that.
California prices are INSANE. That's why so many Callie plates are festooning our roads these days, and why there are Callie-owned developers moving in on our farmlands. Priced themselves right out of the market.
Scary. I hope this development boom stops soon, they just covered an entire hill in houses in Happy Valley... Looks like poop. And the traffic has gotten so bad. I suppose I shouldn't be pleased that most of the newly built homes and lots sit empty because the market has tanked... but deep down, I am.
