I am Ann Wass--appears I actually signed up for this forum a while ago, but didn't activate it. I am a costume historian. I read all of Georgette Heyer's novels in high school but didn't get back to this period until 1994, when I began volunteering at Riversdale, a Federal era house museum in Riverdale Park, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC. I'm now one of the paid staff there. I have written one book on Federal era costume in the United States and am working on a second project. I do some living history interpretation, mainly at War of 1812 events. Occasionally my husband joins me, and I have constructed wardrobes for us both. I've also made some outfits for my granddaughters. I'm a member of the Costume Society of America.
