Hello everyone,
I’m Stacey. I’m not exactly sure when I got involved studying and researching the Regency period, around two or three years ago, but recently I read Pride and Prejudice and then just happened to stumble upon some old files on my computer (things that I had found interesting, from the last time I got interested in it). I started researching again, mostly the fashion aspect of it, when I came across a live journal community which linked me to you. I had been looking around the past couple days and was astonished at the wealth of information on here, as well as some of the lovely costuming advice I saw, and naturally I decided to join.
I’m an amateur sewer, most of the things I’ve made have been stuffed animals, dolls, and doll clothes. I’ve only sewn a couple things for myself, but nothing to complicated. Recently I’ve been leaning towards doing my Senior Project on historical fashion and how it’s changed through the ages next year, though I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get it approved (or even if I’ll be able to find a mentor nearby me, a requirement in the project), none the less I digress.
I’m not really sure what else to put here, so I think I'll end my awkward hello. If you have any questions feel free to send me a private message.

Welcome, Stacey! I've been here just over a year, and I'm still finding new and interesting things here!
Where are you located and what are the requirements for your mentor? Perhaps someone here is nearby and can help you out.
Glad you found us!

That's good to know. I don't want to say to much about where I live online, but it is in Florida (closer to the east coast although going to Orlando or even Miami wouldn't be too bad, just a little bit of a streetch). As for the project I'm not 100% positive of the exact qualifications of a mentor (I won't have the proper paperwork to explain it until I get approved), but from what I understand they're supposed to be a proffesional who can give advice on your work and keep you honest on your research. I hope that makes sense, if not I'll try to explain it again later when I get the paper work and it gets approved.
