We just got home from having Easter dinner with friends, and now am just vegging at home. Too hot to do much. For some reason, it's 89d today. Ridikculous. Looking forward to a nice quiet evening watching tv. and maybe go for a walk when it cools off to burn off the calories accumulated this weekend.

Hi Val, I am at home again today; I was up coughing all night. Urgh. I went to my doctor today, and I was finally prescribed some adequate medication.
Oddly, when I went to urgent care last Wednesday evening, the doctor on duty there was more concered about my elevated heart-rate (which always happens when I'm in a doc office--not to mention I was stressed out from getting woozy at the wheel of my car). She didn't want to prescribe the the medication for my throat because it had Codiene in it and it was a 'depressant'.
She then proceeded to write me an Rx for Ativan, which is a strong anti-depressant. She thought my more dire symptoms were anxiety, apparently. Meanwhile, I went home to have the hardest 4 days I've had in a long time. Coughing, hacking, just plain miserable. The whole infection just keeps flaring up in different places it seems.
Why don't they listen to their patients anymore? I felt like I was talking to a wall. My doc up here on the mountain is far more considerate. Both DH (who is now also ill) and I went today.
I feel ... in the sense of being 'perky' and attentive... better. I'll probably go back to work tomorrow. I need to ... I have cabin fever. However I have had no time because of this to even look at my green gown. I guess I'm wearing my white one to the tea this coming Sunday. I'll wear the bonnet though.

I hope the medication starts working soon. I haven't gotten that one *yet* but hubby has, and he made us both miserable. And I hear you about the doctors. I have "white coat syndrome", diagnosed by a nurse practioner, who figured out what was happening with my BP readings. Once I was getting a pre-check for outpatient surgery on my wrist, and I set off the alarms on the blood pressure machine. So they sent me to the emergency room, where they gave me a nitroglycerin tab to put under my tongue to get my BP down. It gave me a raging pounding headache for two days. When I went to see my own doctor, he went ballistic and said they should have called him first, and this was totally unnecessary. Duh. I agree. I do have hypertension but it takes 3 readings on the BP cup to get a valid reading, as it goes down every couple minutes as I relax. I've had to settle many a times for something else to wear to wear to events, since all my best plans didn't work, or I dragged my feet. Which I'm doing at the moment. I should be calling my neighbor over to mark my Victorian bodice so I can move my buttons over. I'm wearing it this Sunday while we walkabout at an antique show. I need to move buttons over at least 4 inches. Haven't even tried the skirt on yet. And what? it's Monday already. This is easy. Why don't I get it done? I procrastinate. Oh I forgot. I'm retired. That's what we do best.

Back at work at last. I'm feeling decently today; however I do have a husky, hoarse voice from all my delicate hacking.
Yay.
I may summon the energy to finish my gown this week, we shall see. I'm feeling optimistic today.

Wonderful offer, Cosmo, but I will have to decline. I have lots of energy come morning but by PM, I'm fading, so I have to use it to get home safely. I'll try and finish it this week. Time will tell.
