I am brand new to the society. I am so glad I found you all. I am trying to find a group of like minded people in my area. If anyone can help me, I would be much obliged. If it were possible, I would transport myself back to 1815 London England. I have always felt out of step, living in the wrong time period. As a young girl, my mother and I would disagree all the time on the style of clothing I wished to wear. She said I always wanted to wear clothes that made me look like an old granny; in her words. I have always been an old fashion girl. As a young lady I fell in love with Jane Austen and Georgette Heyers books. In my thirties I discovered Stephanie Laurens books. I have dreamed of finding like minded people. I LOVE LOVE LOVE tea's and making period costumes. If I can not find a group in my area I would be very willing to start a group. Thank you for your time, Sincerely Mrs. Patience Carrington

Welcome Mrs. Carrington! Delighted that you have found your way here! You are in luck in that you have an excellent RSA affiliate in Tennessee: RSATN. I'm not sure how close their gatherings are in relation to you but the Doctor is often on these boards and can answer any question you may have about that fine organization. (It won't take much searching on these boards to find reports of their events; all of which sound as though they are worth whatever drive it might require!) Rest assured that you are among friends (none of whom will call you an "old granny" for your preference for Regency garments! ) -uHf

Mrs. Carrington, The RASTN is a rather young group having only been in existence for somewhere around two years. We are always accepting new members and often have visitors from other States (furthest distance travel to one of our events thus far is a friend from Reno, NV). We try our best to have a gathering around once a month. We can be found on our site: rsatn.blogspot.com/ and also on Facebook. I look forward to meeting you at a future event. I am and remain YMHO, M. Ramsey
