Corsets and Crinolines By Norah Waugh # ISBN-10: 0878305262 # ISBN-13: 978-0878305261 Recommended with Caution was disappointed by this book. I did not feel that it had a very wide range of regency information. I felt like it left out almost everything about stays between 1800 and 1820. It seemed to me like she basically said that most people did not wear corsets at the time and left it at that. There also was not a lot of explanations about petticoats either. The majority of useful information was in the period references to corsets and stays and petticoats. I think that if you are doing costuming other than just regency that this book would be very useful. The renaissance, baroque, rococo, victorian and edwardian information is quite detailed. Maybe I just missed a lot of information. What did others think about it? www.amazon.com/Corsets-Crinolines-Norah-Waugh/dp/0878305262

I wouldn't say this is a disappointing book. It covers a lot of time though. No, there's not a ton of information pertaining to Regency, but there's some and I always find it helpful to understand what happened before the time period I'm studying so there is some basis to build on.
